Potswald the popular choice

Posted by DuluthJournal on March 26th, 2008

More local comment on Don Ness’ picking Lisa Potswald as new city CAO:

Kathy Nelson: “I am very pleased to learn about Mayor Ness’s selection of Ms. Potswald as our city’s new Chief Administrative Officer. Her experience and her passion are clearly supportive of the change agenda Mayor Ness envisions, and her energy clearly positions her well to assume this very important role. I was honored to serve as a member of the search committee, and I look forward to working with Lisa as she assumes her new position.”

Pat Mullen: “Lisa Potswald had a strong field from which she was chosen. Our search generated 35 applicants from 12 states, the West Indies and Spain. The 17-member selection committee brought the 35 applicants down to 16, then 6. After interviewing in person a variety of candidates from Maine, Kansas, and Minnesota, Lisa advanced to the finalist group of 3 that were forwarded to the mayor for further consideration. Lisa has an exceptional history of demonstrated leadership and is a strong change agent, an innovator, and she has solid managerial skills. I think the mayor made a fine choice and I’m confident that she will do a great job.”

John Heino: “I have great confidence that Lisa Potswald will provide leadership and innovative thinking to engage city personnel in making improvements to better serve citizens and strengthen the city’s fiscal position. The size of the challenge demands a team effort, and I think she knows how to make that happen.”

Greg Gilbert: “I have not yet met Lisa, but I have heard good things about her and I am sure she will do a great job for the city.”

Jim Stauber: “I have heard good things about Ms. Potswald from both those that work with her and know her on a personal level. I very much look forward to working with her in the coming years.”
